Now that you’ve registered, it’s time to fundraise! Not sure where to start? We’ve got hints, tips and tricks to help you have a great fundraising year. Take a peek at our How To Fundraise Guide.

Set a fundraising goal
Help us reach our Walk MS Goal by setting a personal fundraising goal! While there is no minimum pledge, we ask each walker to raise at least $25. You can set your goal to earn a prize, take the $500 Challenge or join the 2012 Gold Laces! Every dollar moves us closer to being fully funded and allows us to support life changing research and provide valuable programs and services to those with MS.

Make it personal
Are you walking for family or a friend? Ask if you can share their story on your personal page and with those you are requesting donations from.

Give Back Day
Lots of businesses offer give back opportunities where they will donate a portion of the proceeds from a specific time frame to a cause. Contact local restaurants and businesses in your area to see if they do a give back events.

Matching Gifts
Increase the value of your contribution to the Mid America Chapter through matching gifts. Many corporations and businesses match employee gifts to qualifying nonprofit organizations, with differing guidelines in each company. Your employer knows its policy regarding matching gifts and is waiting for you to ask.

To find out if your company has a matching gifts program, contact your personnel office or corporate contributions officer. Companies have various methods by which you can submit your matching gift request: online forms, automated phone systems or a paper you must submit to the Chapter when you turn in donations.
